FAQ

Will my insurance rates go up if I file a hail claim? ⌄

No. Hail damage is covered under comprehensive auto insurance and is considered an "Act of God" — meaning you're not held responsible. Filing a hail claim does not raise your rates.

Do I have to use the shop my insurance recommends? ⌄

No. You can take your vehicle to any repair shop you choose — insurance companies are not allowed to "steer" you to a specific shop. They may require an inspection at one of theirs, but only the inspection. The actual repair happens wherever you want.

What if I don't have rental coverage on my policy? ⌄

We've got you covered. iDent runs its own rental fleet and most hail-repair customers get a free rental for the duration of the repair.

What is Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), and what kinds of damage can it fix? ⌄

PDR removes hail damage, dings, and minor dents by working the metal back into shape from behind the panel — without touching your factory paint. Most hail damage is a perfect fit. PDR isn't suitable for cracked paint, heavily oxidized panels, plastic bumpers, chrome moldings, or panels previously repaired with body filler.

Why should I get my hail damage repaired even if it's "just cosmetic"? ⌄

If you don't fix damage now, the insurance industry typically places a "prior damage restriction" on your vehicle — which can lead to future claims being denied because earlier damage wasn't repaired. Repair now, file once, protect future claims.
